Be careful not to confuse hot and cold enameled buttons. There are 2 types of
enamel. One is known as HOT (vitreous) enamel and is glass fused to metal at high
temperatures. The other is known as COLD enamel and comes in powder or liquid
form and requires little or no firing. In this COLD category are the Japanese
Motiwala buttons. Since, COLD enamel is more fragile than HOT, caution should be taken.
